Double D Hitching

A couple of weeks ago, Curt, my mom, and I headed to Mattawa, Washington for Katie Detering and Chip Dobson's wedding. Katie was my roommate my freshman year in the dorms at Washington State University and then was also my roommate my sophomore year in an apartment.

We all knew that one day those two would get married, it was fate. The have known each other since they were just little tikes. When we were in college our freshman year, Chip was going to school 2 hours away, but him and another friend would drive to Pullman in the middle of the night just to come say hi (I guess), after scaring me half to death, they would go home after a few minutes, but luckily they brought flowers for waking us. I remember thinking this boy is sure crazy over this girl...and we would joke with Katie that her and Chip would get married some day and should would tell us over and over that nope that was never happening. Except, they had an agreement that if they were both a certain age and not married they would marry each other...looks like they reached that age earlier and for better reasons!

The wedding was really pretty and fun, but it was hot! It was close to 106 degrees at 6 o'clock at night! The poor groom wore jeans, a long-sleeved shirt, and a black suede jacket...luckily he had a handkerchief to wipe his brow every couple of minutes. And Katie had a beautiful dress and if you know her and her personality the dress was "Katie."

It was great to see some of my college friends who I hadn't seen in several months, I sure do miss them!

It was also fun because the couple who photographed Curt and I's wedding drove to Mattawa to photograph Katie and Chip's wedding.

Those pictures are also coming soon!

Visit from Colleen and Amy

A little over a week ago, Curt's Mom and Sister traveled to Redmond for the weekend. It was a very relaxing weekend...we joked with them that we were going to have them help us rip up our carpet (which we want to replace), because when they were here right after Christmas we decided we were going to demolish our kitchen and start that project that you can see in the pictures from one of our earlier blogs.

I think if we weren't joking they would have been all for tearing out carpet, but we aren't quite ready to take on that project (hopefully soon though).

While Colleen and Amy were here we did a short hike to Steelhead Falls, just outside of Terrebone (North of Redmond). It was a beautiful sight!

Pictures will come as soon I upload them from my camera.

Cheerleading Season Has Begun

As some of you may know, Laramie is the JV Cheerleading Coach at Redmond High School. I thoroughly enjoy being a coach and watching the girls learn from the things I have taught them. This is my second year as a coach. I have a great group of girls this year who are quick learners and eager to improve and will do pretty much anything to get better...(I said pretty much).

The week before last was the start of daily doubles, meaning we practice twice a day for two weeks. September 11th is our first game and I can't wait to see how the girls perform.

Our cheer seasons ends in February and I informed the girls of Curt and I's news (Baby Barnett) which we are due at the end of February, I told them that if everything goes good I will be there until the end of their season...so hopefully that will be the case!

Baby Barnett

Sorry we haven't added an update in a month, but we are here now. A couple of weeks ago Curt and I headed to the Doctor for another monthly checkup. Not sure as to what this appointment would hold, we were pleasantly surprised that we were going to hear the Baby's heartbeat that day.

It was awesome to hear the heartbeat. Our Doctor said it was a strong heartbeat and the baby had grown quite a bit since our last appointment. We couldn't believe how fast it was beating. We were hoping to have an ultrasound to see how big the baby had grown, but we didn't have one that day, we will at our 16 week mark in a couple of weeks.
