Fair 2010

Logan enjoyed her 2nd Deschutes County Fair! Logan dunked a cheerleader a couple of times, we went and visited some pigs and saw the little piggies, Logan rode the canoe, and then we ate some curly fries and finished walking around.

Weissenfels' Reunion

This past weekend was the Weissenfels' reunion, which is Curt's mom's side of the family. The reunion has been held in Anatone, WA...which is near Clarkston, WA. It is about 7 hours from Redmond. With the 7 hour drive, we decided to make it a long weekend and enjoy the relaxation! We borrowed Jerry and Dena's camp trailer and hauled it up there. Curt's grandpa owns 40 acres up there and we camped there. The last time we went to the reunion, a couple of years ago, a lot of Curt's family came and camped at "The 40," so we were hoping that would be the same this year...but Curt, Logan, Daisy, Echo, and I were the only ones camping with his grandparents (who go and stay a couple of weeks at a time). Even though there wasn't any activity while camping, we still enjoyed our time away from our cell phones and internet! It took us a little while to get used to doing nothing.

There were several other extended family members at the reunion, but this is a picture of Curt's grandparent's family, we were missing just a few!

The line up is:
Back Row (L to R): cousin Heidi, cousin Bob and his wife Kelly, cousin Robby, cousin Meagan, cousin Katie, Curt's mom Colleen, Curt's sister Amy, Laramie, Curt, Logan.
Middle Row (L to R): cousin Adam, Uncle Ron, cousin Joey, Aunt Barb, Great Uncle Ira (who is 98 yrs. old), Grandpa Ken, Grandma LaVerne, Uncle Gary, Aunt Lee.
Front Row: cousin Maggie

Visit in Tri-Cities

As posted in the previous blog we were in the Tri-Cities a couple of weeks ago...here is a picture that was taken on Curt's Birthday with his grandparents.

Swimming in Tri-Cities

My sister-in-law, Amy, is a member of a community neighborhood pool so whenever we get the chance and it is warm we like to go swimming.

Waterbabies...

4th of July-Mattawa, Washington

We spent the 4th of July in Mattawa, Washington. My best friend, Casie, is home for summer break from Oklahoma State. This was our chance to see her before she heads back to school, so we headed to Mattawa for the weekend. As soon as we got there on Saturday we took our boat out on the mighty Columbia river. We spent a few hours out there and then came back into town to a pig roast and fireworks. On Sunday, we were hoping to take the boat out again, but due to 35mph wind gusts we just relaxed around Casie's. In the evening, Casie's dad cooked us his famous tri-tip. After dinner, Curt, Logan, I headed to Tri-Cities to meet up with some more friends and enjoy the fireworks a top of a hill in the Tri-Cities. It was pretty cool watching the fireworks 360 degrees around us in the 3 cities and then all of the private fireworks. On a side note, referring to some earlier pictures of Logan no enjoying her life vest...she does excellent in it now! She evens knows how to drive the boat as you will see in some of these new pictures. She would start steering and she knows that the lever on the right side is the throttle.

Sister-in-law's Baby Shower

Last weekend, we traveled to Washington to throw a baby shower. My sister-in-law Amy and I hosted a baby shower for our sister-in-law, Laura. Her expected due date is August 18th. We had a lot of fun planning and hosting the shower. Laura's nursery theme is safari, so we went in that direction for the baby shower theme. One of Laura's good friends created the Panda cake, it turned out great! I put together the diaper cake. There were about 60 or so diapers rolled and then decorated with baby supplies! Using the diaper cake, we played a game of memorization as well as a few other games. We can't wait to meet our niece or nephew!
